Mixed-style wedding ceremony

This wonderful day begins with a stylist and make-up artist’s visit. They will fulfill your requests for the day and style accordingly. Accompanied by a professional photographer, the newly-weds will take a walk to the most beautiful viewpoints, ancient side streets and beaches of Phuket. The photographer will capture the most touching, interesting and exciting moments of this happy day.

The next stop is at a Buddhist temple. Monks, wearing their saffron yellow togas, bless the couple and place special thread wreaths on to the couple’s heads, so that the idea of a “bond of wedlock” is made. The ceremony begins when the monks recite five common Commandments of Buddhism. After that, when chanting ancient Buddhist mantras, the monks wear special fragrant garlands, made from tropical flowers and place around the Bride and Groom’s neck. The monks then bless the couple and all of the guests with holy water. This ritual will bring happiness, peace, wealth and luck into your life.

The holy water pouring ceremony dates back from the depths of centuries. Thais consider water to be the basis and integral part of living in Thailand. Both the Bride and Groom sit on special traditional stools next to each other. Their hands are on place on a traditional stand for this ceremony, with a special board attached to it.

The couple will clasp their palms together in a gesture resembling “a boat”, and called “wai”. On the board, bowls of flowers are placed underneath the hands to catch the water. A sacred thread joins the heads of both groom and bride. Monks pour threads of holy water, taking it out of the bowl with flowers and incense, over the hands of the Bride and Groom. The guests bless the newly married couple and wish them luck.

In modern Thailand, ancient traditions and customs are closely interwoven with the new trends of the West. That is why, the wedding ceremony on the beach under orchid decorated arch, vows taken by the couple while listening to the sounds of cooling breeze, unforgettable photo shooting at sunset lights, launching of Sky Lanterns and Loi Krathongs and dinner at a restaurant, will give this day charm and style.
