Arrive in Chiang Mai. A transfer will take you to the hotel, where you will check-in and have free time.
Dinner is provided.
At 8 a.m. you will be driven from Chiang Mai to a place called Ta Tong (176 km from Chiang Mai)
with a stop in Chiang Dao. Here you can watch young elephants at the training center. You will then
visit the Meo tribe village. Lunch is provided at a local restaurant in Ta Tong.
After lunch, you will enjoy an interesting and picturesque boat trip down the Mae Kok River from
Pa Thai pier, with a stop at a village to see the local tribes: Lahu and Karen in Baan Ruam Mitr.
Afterwards a transfer will take you back to the hotel and dinner will be provided.
7.30 a.m. After breakfast you will embark on a one-day excursion to the villages of Yao and Akha
tribes and take a trip to Mae Sai – the northernmost town, which is a major border crossing between
Thailand and Burma. Lunch offers a local cuisine.
After lunch you will take a trip to the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Burma and Laos meet, and
then drive to Chiang Saen to see the rapid and abrupt banks of the Mekong River. The opposite side
belongs to the neighboring country of Laos. Here you are free to inspect the ancient ruins and
temples. After this you will return to the hotel and have dinner.
Have breakfast and checkout at 8:30am. You will be taken on a short city tour,
visit the local market and Wat Phra Kaew in Chiang Rai. After this you will be driven
from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai airport (200 km).
